Well a few weeks ago i installed a rebuilt injection pump with a 3800 rpm limit to help out my new BB code injectors:sly well i made my usaul run down the mountain and back up to test power (7% grade) well i hit it doing 55 as thats the speed limit and accelarate up to about 60 and hold that all the way to the top with no smoke, with my old pump i would hit it at 55 and it would fall down to about 48-50 and on both runs never comming out of 4th gear, well this evening i turned the pump up one flat, and advnced the timing some(i also have the glow plug delete modLOL) well just driving down the road it felt different like it had lots more power, well down the mountain i went and back up, hit it at 50 this time cause i wanted to make it work well i have smoke now:D and it accelarated up to around 68 mph and held that all the way too the top when i let out of it, NOTE: timing is not set by a meter just set by ear so i dont know were it is but all i know is it seems to have alot of power right now n/a so kinda making me wonder how it would do turboed

That's nice to know that a good IP and injectors actually do make that much of a difference - my dually currently cannot climb 8% grades in OD, even when empty - I may have some chance at it if I manage to bring her up to about 2000 rpms but that means hitting the bottom of the uphill at 55 mph or more, if I start off real slow at the bottom and try to accelerate my way up I really have no choice but stay in 3d and wind her up there till I hit the top and then I can shift in OD...

Yes made a huge difference! and i dont have my timing set by a meter, but i do know im running some pretty high timing right now cause she real rattly but it has so much more power than it did when i had the timing more retarted so im going to keep running it the way it is cause the power is awesome right now, i can burn tires threw second gear but i try not to do that cause she wheel hops alot:eek:

The hill I blew my brown trucks motor on was about a 6-7% grade. I was only in 3rd gear IIRC, and just tootling along and all of a sudden clinkclinkclinkclink and the truck lost almost half power and started shaking. What a drag. lol
Thats awesome your truck runs that will NA. I don't know of too many IDI's that are NA that could even make a 3 mile 7% grade at anything over 50mph, much less accelerate. lol

I really dont get it. You guys think it's funny to **** peeps off with Your smoke shows?

It WILL bite You (and prolly all of us) in the ***, eventually.

Tune Your trucks properly, You'll have enough power, and not much smoke!
