I got this filter head for dirt cheap awhile back thinking I could possibly use it (well, it was two heads together on a bracket). They're off an old International dozer with a DT807 (I believe) in it.
The two filter heads were identical, one had a Fram P1125 on it and the other was a P1118. I was only able to salvage the one head because the filter was rusted on the other one. They're both the same filter head, kind of an odd setup as it has a long tube that runs down the middle of the filter. They're big filters too, about 8" long.
Anyway I was looking at this head tonight and wondering how they hook up. As I got it, shown in this picture:
Starting at the front, since I need to explain the top one last...
Front fitting was connected to the top fitting of the other filter head by a hardline.
The fitting on the left side had a short piece of cloth braided tubing (with crimped on metal fittings) threaded on to it. I guess this would be the outlet? There's an identical port on the right side of the filter head, it had a plug in it.
The small plug on top of this one was just, well...a plug, but the other filter head had a brass bleeder screw in this spot.
Finally the top fitting I believe didn't have anything attached, not sure where it goes. Also I removed the top fitting and it looks like this:
What is the function of that?
Anyway I don't know what I would use this for...apparently the filters it takes are rated at 12 microns...
