worn ip?

i maxxed out my ip today and plugged my wastegate. i still only got about 600 degrees on my gauge (about 900 at the port then). could my pump be worn and not delivering as much fuel? i do get some black smoke when i floor it now, but everyone talks about those egts like reaching 1200 is common but i cant get near it when i try to. i dont know what the symptoms of a worn out pump are

I'd say 900 hot side, 600 cold side is not bad for an empty truck. Gotta put a load on it and then see what your max boost and EGT are. If they are still that low then I'd say yeah you have a weaker pump, given that it's maxed out. If I stand on mine I can see maybe 900 but it goes back down almost as soon as the boost catches up. I don't do it often, it makes too much smoke and just really have no need, but I like to burn the carbon out and see what she can do every so often. That is burning B100 biodiesel and the pump turned up 1/2 way between stock and maxed out.

Yeah that's not bad. I rarely see more than 800 with my preturbo pyro with a maxed Moose IP, Moose injectors, and wastegate delete Banks turbo.

well my EGTs were significantly higher on my old pump then with my new one. That being said my timing was out of spec so I dont know if it was the timing or the pump.

Retarded timing or advanced timing can cause high egts, plus Jim your truck is NA so it seems reasonable for the egts to be higher than with a turbo truck unless the fuel is turned WAY up. Around town I tend to see 400-500 hot side don't know what the max readings are, as I haven't had a load bigger than a bunch of WVO for the processor or a bunch of junk for the dump since I got the pyro plugged in right.

I can hardly get my truck above 6-700 empty but put a trailer on and I can flirt with 1100 in a heartbeat but then again Im na so I dont have extra air when loaded
