I am looking to pick up another work truck, and it is an 01' Dodge Cummins with auto trans, it has about 120k miles. I run 80% motor oil 20% diesel in my 7.3l powerstroke now with no issues. Will the 5.9l cummins burn it like my 7.3l will? I don't want it if it is not going to work like it does in the 7.3's. Let me know what I am up against here if you would please, thanks.

id be more worried about your 7.3 than your 5.9 but if your 7.3 is doing good then im shure that the 5.9 will be good to go

the 5.9 is a more robust engine but i dont believe it runs the fuel through the cylinder head like the 7.3 does with WMO and other fuels heat to the fuel is your friend and helps the burn and keeps smoke down.

some other 5.9 owners are complaining about smoke and it looks like one guy fixed that with water injection. this is somewhat new territory with no guarantees.

the powerstroke 7.3 is the only big three diesel that has true common rail (fuel flowing through the heads)
the 12v and 24v are basically like our trucks
