so there seems to be a few different wing windows out there.
im hoping someone could clarify this for me.
i either need to order new ones, or swap doors entirely.

the drivers side has busted rivets at the top.
and neither appear to seal very well.
the doors i have on now, are from an 88 bronco, the blue ones are from an 86

you can tell by the pics that they are different.
i remember the 89 F350 doors i had, also had the narrow strip/channel.

what exactly makes these different?
does not seem to be year specific.

Good question. I thought they were only different at the very front with the latest models, I never noticed the narrower strips. Be good to know when swapping parts.

Maybe you can stand even further back ...with sun directly into freakin camera next time to get an even worse shot of what yer trying to depict....

Maybe give the camera to one of the twins see if they can do any worse?

This is my understanding of how the door glass works for the front doors.

80-86 side glass is unique and only works with 80-86 vent windows. The 80-86 side glass is like 1/2" longer than other side glasses because of thinner divider strip at the vent window.

87-97 side glass works with 87-91 or 92-97 vent windows. Both vent windows have the "thicker" divider. It's about 1" wide.
92-97 vent windows are different from 87-91 to clear the dashes on the 92-97 trucks.

If you need a set of vent windows let me know i have the factory ones from my 88, swapped the doors and everything after the wreck but stockpiled all the door guts in case i ran into issues with the 95 doors.

Just pay for the ride and you can have them if you need em.

My custom 90 has the thin, and my xlt lariats (89 and 90) have the thick personally. Strange. Not sure if that's relevant.

definitely proves that its not year specific.

any chance that the 90 has been swapped?

Almost a 0% chance, on the f150 Custom. It was my grandfathers and outside of the lights I've added and the transfer case shifter he put in that's a straight up and down like the transmission shifter, it's all original.

From junkyard excavations arising out of my truck being broken into several times, I have found that the 80-86 assembly is significantly different from the later years. I have no way of knowing if you can swap the entire assembly to different years without making other changes.

Do you still have the windows? Mine broke when I locked my keys in the ignition
