99% sure my speedo drive gear is worn out, allowing the little plastic gear to slip. Speedometer jumps around and the cruise control does the same. Replaced the cable and the little plastic driven gear

I see both a yellow and a brown gear listed for these trucks, 7 or 8 tooth. Anyone know which gear I likely have?

Also, is there any gasket for the tail shaft housing or does it use RTV.

While writing this it occurred to me I can probably just pull the little gear out and stick my inspection camera down there to see what color it is.

There’s no easy way to tell without pulling it and checking what you have. If you pull the bolt and cable end out you will see the gear on the end of the cable, and you will be able to look inside and see the other gear as well.
