I am getting oil on my drive from under the block. The transmission bellhousing is wet with oil as is the back of the block but no where above the exhaust manifolds. There is also oil on the starter where it bolts to the bellhoussing. The oil is dripping onto the factory y pipe and falling from there and to the bellhousing onto the drive. It started as scattered drops and has increased to larger puddles. It is not huge, but its large enough to make me worry about what the problem is.
I've attached pictures of the large oil spots, and you can also see where there were small spots, but it has increased to the three large ones that are circled.
I have also attached a few shots from under the truck where I can see oil. I apologize for the poor quality.
Also, any idea why the oil filter would let oil out as shown in the picture?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot everyone.

Oil leaks are not easy to find sometimes, so don't get frustrated if you don't find it right away. They are hard to find because the air from going down the road blows the oil back till it hits something, and then drips off that.

What I would do is wipe it down and clean it up as good as possible. Then let it run in the driveway without driving it, and put a piece of cardboard down under the truck. See if it appears after about 15 minutes of letting it idle in the driveway. If you see no drips, after it cools then crawl all over it again and see if you have any oil were you cleaned it off before.

I have a very similar oil leak and I think I have mine traced to the oil supply going to the turbo. There is a fitting coming out of the back of the block and then the line that goes to the turbo. Go to put a whole new line on mine this weekend an see if that helps.

Thats a fuel leak that collects in the pan under the injection pump. Then is drains out the back of the pan onto the top of the bellhousing. Then it finally drips down on the starter. Look over the return lines and the drivers side of the injection pump. There is a fuel leak somewhere...

I don't know about his but my leak is oil for sure. Thick black puddles and I lose a quart in about 20-30 miles. I have a fuel leak too which is suspect to be the pump but that is another story.

20-30 miles? sounds like could be rear main seal. Hope not, but that's alot of oil. Air flow can do crazy things with a fluid leak

If you need to pin it down, You can get UV dye for oil from Napa or Snap On ( it'll take 2 small bottles for one this size) pour it in the oil and run it a little while , then look it over with a UV light and glasses like used for ckecking AC systems ( you can get a cheap set for about $15 at most parts stores ) It will leave a bright yellow glowing trail from the point of the leak under UV light. Very easy to find that way. Takes the guess work out of it

I thought about the turbo oil line and checked it, and its dry as a bone. It is thick black oil, but I will check for the fuel leak anyway.
I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

The oil leaking @ the oil filter could be from a double gasket. Had this problem friday. Removed old filter and rubber gasket stayed on filter housing. I didn't catch this and installed the new filter. When I fired it up oil started to ooze from between the two gaskets. Finding the problem onm this one was easy as it was not on a truck but on a skid loader and inspection of oil filter and housing was very easy as it is mounted high in the engine compartment and very visable.

X2 on the dye. I found bad valve cover gaskets on mine. Three bolts were loose on the firewall side of the passenger valve cover. New gaskets were $10 at Advance Auto.

Also check where the CDR tube goes into the airbox for the turbo, if you have a 093 based kit. I know mine leaks so much oil right there its not even funny.

Are you talking about where the tube connects to the intake box or where it comes out of the CDR itself? My intake always has oil in it I know that. Not sure how much I am losing there. Wish I knew how to make it stop.

Where it connects to the intake. For some reason its like my tube is like an inch short and will leak there like no tommorow
