Does that corolla have the same valve stem issues as the Rav4s(and other cars) did with the 1az-fe? My Rav4 was using something like half a quart a tank before I changed out the valve stems seals and now it uses less that that per oil fill. The stem seals were worn to the point I probably could have fit a second valve in there. My Corolla with the 7a-fe probably needs that too, but I got enough of the oil loss under control when I change out the valve cover gasket and the distributor seal.
The 1zz-fe's suffer from the oil return holes in the pistons drilled way too small. Dino oil cokes inside and once it starts basically can't be stopped short of pulling the head and drilling out the holes bigger. Or buying new pistons.
Which is absolutely crazy that Toyota couldn't handle that detail...otherwise one of the most venerable 4cyls ever made if you ask me. I guess by 03 they finally figured out the goof and fixed it.
Would be nice if it was stem seals, that would actually fix!

Mercedes e350 4matic until about three weeks ago when I totalled it! Been driving the old idi and shopping for another daily driver. Found a nice Volvo XC70 with only 12,000 miles. Its scheduled to be sold at an estate auction early next week and I'm planning to be there.

My IDI's are the ones rarely used. My daily is a 2003 Yukon XL Denali, the wife's is a 2015 Z71 CCSB. For heavy towing I use the 2003 2500 HD RCLB. The 1990 F350 IDI RC Utility Bed is the water hauler and the 1994 F350 IDI CCLB is just a toy. Every vehicle is a 4wd except the Yukon which is AWD.

My 71 W200 is my DD currently dealing with a wiring issue of my own demise on it...rewired alot of it with wire I purchased on amazon alumaclad (its crap) 14ga primary so I have been scavenging good old school copper. An 87 Dodge raider just got brakes back up on it. A 96 F350 4x4 boxtruck just did brake booster swap pedal lube/ currently in the slot waiting to do an ICP rewire and install its just crazy hot humid here. Im losing my motivation... Oh yea and the anchor OM617 powered ranger I pulled alot of the parts for my buddy who was building an OM617 wagoneer, but after riding in my Dodge he found a sweet 63 F250 4x4 so hes stalled as well.

I've only had my idi for about 2 months and it's my first one. Other vehicles I have are a Toyota venza, 88 bronco currently broke again and an 89 crown vic wagon I'm gonna turn into a sleeper.

I just serviced a Venza with almost 340k on it. No leaks no issues! Just needed a check over before college. I love Toyota

My husband goes between a 2.5 gas Jetta and a TDI Passat wagon. Then we have a ton of other vehicles b(I'm a vehicle hoarder) that I drive since my job is at the house.

I finally found a 95 Accord wagon I really want to get running, I've wanted one foreverrrrrr. Dragged it home and haven't even had a chance to look at it at all
