What do you think about at RDT with a CDR in tandem?

So... I played around for a while with my engine tonight, and I don't seem to have WAY too much blow-by but I defintley have more than I used to and it seems that this new CDR is not letting all of it by. I guess maybe it's not supposed to let it all by, but there is enough blow-by pressure remaining in the crank case that blow-by is coming out every little nook and cranny of the engine when it's idling. It's making my rear main and/or oil pan leak where it did not used to leak, it's coming out around the dipstick some, and I suspect it may be blowing past some of my stem seals and pushing excessive oil into the cylinder. Either that or its coming up from the bottom of the cylinder past the rings. It's also leaking around the CDR and the valley pan tube where it's not sealing 100%.

This new CDR was basically dry on the inside, no oil really to speak of when i pulled it tonight, it's got about two hours on it. I could see a little bit of blow by pulling into the intake though from looking down in the intake, so i know it's doing something.

So my question really is this, do you think it's safe to keep the CDR the way it is, then also rig up a RDT to the oil filler neck? The way I see it, is that at idle a majority of the blow by would continue to get sucked in through the CDR and excess would go out the RDT. Then when you are driving and have air blowing past the RDT the majority of the blow by would be being pulled out there. The reason I would want this, is I really don't want to smog up the van and passenger area with blow by and fumes when i'm driving around at slow speeds with the windows down. And i also don't want people thinking my van is on fire, lol.

Your intake is already pulling a vacuum on the crankcase. Adding a RDT will decrease that vacuum, I'd be afraid that you'd be sucking a lot of dirty air through the RDT and into the intake.

I would say you've got the tube going down into the intake shoved in too far, it should only be a 1/2" to 3/4" in past the grommet. Does the down tube have the plastic part with a flange on it?

Well unless it's been that way for the last 10 years, I'm not sure how the tube would have been down too far? Could it have fallen when I switched the CDR? How do I check it, does the tube just pull out? If I pull it out will I be able to get it back in?

I feel that a RDT is a really bad idea. The amount of air going out is the same as the amount of dirty dusty unfiltered air coming back in. I dont like dirt in my engine.
