want to make my 95 2WD duallie a 4WD

i figured some you may have done or seen it done and may know what else i may need in order to do it.just pretend that its an IDI

ok heres the plan.i have my 95 2wd psd.i havent been able to locate a cheap 4WD frame for it.but i have a92 F250 4WD in yankin the cab off of.whats involved in ripping the suspension out and stuffing it under my 95?i dont care if the 4WD works for now.i gotta get the output shaft and tail housing on my tranny swapped.i also want to keep my dually front wheels.can i bolt my knuckles to the F250 parts?ill eventually come up with a D60 but i gotta work with what i have for now

If you are going that deep why not do a frame up on the 4x4 and get it like you want then drop the PSD cab and all on it?

cuz i cant get my hands on a crew cab 4WD frame for short money around here or else i would.plus doing a frame swap would take too long.stuffing the components that i need into my frame would be quicker.should be able to do it in a day as opposed to a week for a frame swap.plus i still end up haveing to figure out how to get my duallie wheels on the front till i get a dana 60.

they made regular or extended cab duallies? id never own a duallie that wasnt a crew cab,the regular and EXT. cab duallies look dumb to me.

I'd just hold out for the Dana 60. I'm a TTB front-end diehard myself, but it will be a pain in the ass to swap.

In building up my Bronco it became evident to me that a 2WD F series could be easily converted to 4WD by using the Bronco front axle. Bronco's have coil springs that are the same size (just F series has bigger diameter stock). Not sure what if any mods would be needed to the axle pivots, but I'd be willing to bet whatever is needed could be swapped over. The Bronco front axle is the same as the F series Dana, it just has a knuckle with different holes for the spindle, so a knuckle swap can get you back to 8 lug with parts from a Dana 44.

I agree with rangerwreck with holding out on the dana 60....but not about the die hard TTB, ha....... I dont know if your frame would have all the holes for the TTB brackets, and if they didn't....I wouldnt even try to drill them....Its hard enough to keep a TTB alligned in the first place, not to mention if your holes are somewhat off if you have to drill them.... when I replaced one of the TTB brackets when I first bought my truck it was such a pain because there is almost NO room between the oil pan and crossmember to access this two bolts!!!! ....it took me amlost 2 hours to get those 2 bolts in...hell i thought about saying screw it right there and going a buying a dana 60 right then... I see where you are comming from with the free part, but if you do have plans to do to a dana 60 in the future, I would just hold out until you do get one....

i eventually want to lift it so the bronco stuff wont do me any good,although i do have a bronco i could **** as well.

Well as everyone said It can be done, I have done one to a 91' f250, Swapped out the 2 wheel stuff for the front out of an 85 f250(pain in the A$$) I would not recommend it as you have to drill new holes in the crossmember, locate all the mounting points for your springs and then hope that it all works together, like it was mentioned a TTB has to be pretty much perfect or you will be eating tires like crazy......Mine turned out ok but it took much, much longer that I thought......about 4 days, I thought about it a little and I think that The best way to swap in a TTB would be to swap the engine crossmembers. Theree are other differances other than the mounting holes, if I remember right on the passenger side of the 4Wd crossmember it has an indentation in it that makes the right side pivot bracket sit about 3/8 inch lower, Why dont you just wait for a D60 since you have to tear the trans apart before the 4wd will work anyways> just my thoughts.....It can be done but it is all about how much time you want to spend on it.
