I bought a cheap Sunpro vacuum guage for my 88 F-350 to moniter the vacuum pump. Where would be the best spot to T off or tap into? and can i use regular rubber vacuum hose instead of that craptastic hard plastic tubing that came with it?

There should be a vacuum manifold bolted to the firewall just above and to the passenger side of the engine.
