Wow it is very cool! I can just imagine how much work you have in that setup...wow! What has been done to the motor to make it tough enough for this application? If I recall its a DPS build and I know Ken is big on head studs and ceramic coated pistons so I assume those two? Anything else? How high of boost numbers do you trust it with?

That looks seriously cool. I was thinking hard about a remote mount for a PS turbo that I had before I broke down and bought my ATS, It wouldn't have ended up looking that clean though

Nice job! After many hours of deciding, i have decided to follow through with twin turbo-ing my 6.9 but putting it in a different truck when finished. What mods internally have you done? Are they regular pistons or low comp, stock rods?

I have head studs and ceramic coated .010 under pistons. If I had it to do over again I would have cut fire rings. Ken seems to think I should be able hold up to 25 lbs. I don't think I want to see that. I did it mostly to see if it could be done. Plus, I want to be able to pull the TT without having to floor it and melting down.

Gotta give Barney a lot of credit. All that, and not even a body lift to make it easier. As Barney pointed out, he had an oil leak at the turbo with gravity to blame. Turbo seals actually rely on internal presures to seal when operating, so a turbo at rest will leak. Hence, it's not a good idea to use one as a drain plug.

Since those of us currently w/o turbo who are looking at this will run this as the only turbo, the plumbing to the intake may be simpler. We do not have to run across the truck to get to the driver's side to meet the PSD intake.

If you can find a route to get a 3" pipe into the engine compartment someplace other than where I did, I'd like to know. If I could have I wouldn't have had to stub my air filter up into the bed.

What I like is that most guys put stacks in the bed, not Barney, He puts the Air Intake in the bed

Just an FYI. The sun dries out K&N air filter oil quickly. I've re oiled it 3 times since the install.

Try an AEM Dryflow filter. No oil. They rock.
