Turbo oil feed options

So, I've got the factory ATS turbo that may, or may not end up going on the 6.9 engine when I do the swap. When I took the turbo off the dead 7.3 the little rubber olives disintegrated instantly (they had been leaking a little oil for a while)

I have access to some stainless tubing, I wounder if it would be better to bend a new tube for the oil feed, out of either 1/4" or 3/8" welded stainless, and use compression fittings on the engine and the turbo?

Anyone have any luck with this?

Do you think 1/4" might be too small (it would make nicer bends though, don't want to starve the turbo for oil though)

Use the 3/8" if anything, it's measured by the OD, the ID would be close to the 1/4" oil supply port. !/4" NPT is ~.362 ID. If useing tha tubing, look at the fittings hole ID.

I ordered a new line from the local ford dealer recently for around 12 dollars.

Ive got olives for that if needed, they are used for vibration, solid compresion fittings will wear on the tubing and eventually leak.

1/4" tubing seems a little small but then again the fittings included with the Banks turbo kit aren't all that big either and they don't have any lack of oil problems.

I wouldn't use regular compression fittings. I would use double flare fittings. Or Swageloc type fittings. Either way, besure to secure the tubing so it doesn't vibrate.

Russ, How much pressure are the olives good for? Will they reliably hold up to 60 lbs of pressure?

The new line from ford comes assembled with new olives and new compression nuts. I felt like the $12 was pretty cheap.
