turbo off a cat for my idi ?

is there any reason i wouldn't be able to run a turbo off of a 3116 cat on my idi? my turbo is set up as a side mount kit and has the same flanges as the cat turbo . i got the turbo for free and it seems the shaft is broke on the exhaust side .

IT wouldnt spool good, its too big

They use S300 turbo's I believe, I bet I would be alright.

I was looking at one the other day that I was going to snag but the land lord had the trucks towed off the property the day I was getting the titles to them!

The turbo didnt look much bigger than the 088 or 085 ats kits that I have had. Plus the exhaust side of the turbo has two entrances making it really easy to run exhaust to it from each bank. I think it would work fine, maybe a little lag but I bet you would have no problem getting it lit off.

That broken shaft will be expensive because I think it is Cat specific.

turns out shafts not broke so i think its a go , it don't look like it would lag much its not really a gigantic turbo.

Guess i just need to shut up i figured cat turbo ment really big and slow to spool, i guess not anyway go for it if its what you want to do Im sure mel could build you a pump and injectors to make all the fuel that you need
