Should work with the link now.
I want to try a ww2 to see if the hype is true, but if the current wheel isn't worn, I'd let it be. I'm running a wheel from a super duty turbo, which seems to have more boost. But that's subjective because I don't have a gauge, and the old wheel was junk. Old one definitely whistled more, but that doesn't mean anything.
Go to a smaller exhaust housing first. There's a few to pick from.

Yes the exhaust housing. I have a 1.0 coming in the mail right now.
And there's other wheels available that could possibly be better.

From what I understand, that's right, and it makes sense. A smaller area for the gas to rotate the turbine would increase the velocity

Correct.
Iirc, you can get like a .75 or something.
Just look up 94-97 powerstroke turbo parts.

Ok,I'm starting to mill this block to replace the pedestal on my turbo.

I think this will work...a little thicker then i wanted ,like 1 3/8" thick, but it'll work

You ain't kidding, it's a thick one, but it's just mild construction steel.
Not very hard, but a little overly thick, I'm hoping the thickness will compensate for the lack of hardness, and still be resist to the heat

Next I'll drill the 6 holes....4 mounting, 1 oil pressure, 1 oil return...in a press

Tap the oil lines

Etch, and paint

Unfourtunitly...the left side of this block looks like crap....was cut with a torch, you know how easy it is to chop up thick metal with a torch while your trying to cut it (i didn't do it)

But thankfully you won't be able to see it...I'll clean it up with a grinder, and reface all 6 sides before etching and painting
