I know this is probly not the right place on this forum to ask this but Im trying to find a 1985-1987 ford ranger with a Mazda - Perkins Diesel engine 2 or 4 wheel drive 5spd

Well that limits your to just two years. For 83 and 84 they had the bullet proof mazda-perkins. After that it was a Mitsubishi turbo diesel. I love mine, problem is outside of basic parts if your engine has a major failure of some sort your limited to finding other motors there are no internals made for these engines anymore. Also good luck finding a 5 speed behind one. I was lucky enough to get a five speed and i have been offered over 1000 just for the transmission. If your not particular i would find one with the turbo diesel. Better power and parts are still made for them. Owning a diesel ranger is fun though
