truck dies under heavy load

I have a 1999 F-350 single wheel 4x4 with auto trans. my problem is when I have my triler on(6000lbs.) and go to start off quick from a dead stop or if I try to power brake it to do a burn out, the engine tries to die out, and if I keep my foot in it , it will die. If I'm rolling with the trailer on it's fine. No lack of power any other time. The truck is stock, I've replaced the icp,it was starting to leak, and had the cps replaced under the recall.I've had no other problems, and the truck is not smoking at all.I am ase cert mechanic, but I don't have access to a reader, truck is not throwing any codes. any one have any thoughts?

if it was a gas engine, what would you do?

check the MAP & BARO sensors, right?

Dude.. you NEED a scanner for these.. and the $89 Mac global one won't get it; most of the codes are manufacturer specific..
AutoEnginuity software for your laptop.. OTC, MODIS, etc...

Check all the sensors. You have to get a reader, because you are guessing at this point and it's going to get expensive. You said the cps was replaced, was it replaced with the black factory one or the grey aftermarket one? It will make a difference.
Are you getting adequate fuel pressure? HPOP output ok? Get that reader and find out what really is going on.

the cps is a ford unit, fuel preasure is at 70psi in the fuel rail(i have a gauge in the head) don't know about the hpop, haven't put a gauge on it yet. I was hoping someone else had run into this problem and could at least point me in the right direction.
