Anything after 1995 will be a problem if you are running a stock computer. You could go aftermarket, but that might be more touble and cost than its worth for you.

You might (MIGHT!!!!!!) be able to swap the solenoid body over from the E4OD to the 4R100 so the computer still thinks its running an E4OD. There were some electrical changes that happened in the solenoid body right around 1995. The MLPS should also be swapped over from old to new transmission.

If you have the time to spare and can swap a tranny easily, it would be worth a try.

there was a removal of a diode in 1995 that prevents voltage from backfeeding through the solenoid or something like that. its fine to use a early solenoid on later trans but you dont want to put a later solenoid pack on an earlier trans. was talking to a trans guy with 35+yrs experience just today about this actually.

To use the 4R100. You would need to plug the Output Speed Sensor and the Turbine Speed Sensor ports. You will need to change the tranny pump and solenoid pack. You want to use the 95 to 97 pump. That would be the "F" pump. I would rewire the connector and use the 97 solenoid pack. You can use the 95 and up Range Sensor or rewire the connector for the later version on the 4R100.

You can build up the 93 E4OD to as strong or stronger than a 4R100 with a little less effort. Stick with the 95 and up pump and throw a bunch of goodies in the case.:D
