well i haven't been on here much cuz of work and nice weather but i killed my tranny finally. burnt up completely. let a friend use it to pull a camper to indiana. said it would be okay in OD at 60 but she went 50 instead. rpms were just too low then. i pulled it home at 70 with a tailwind. its was only 6000# camper but add all this with bad engine and tranny cooling, 90 degrees out, and 1000 degree egts, and 213,000mi on truck and its not good.

so i finally got the money and took it to the local tranny shop today to be rebuilt. its getting a heavy duty rebuild (extra $400 in parts) aftermarket TC and cooler rated for 30,000# vehicle:hail. i'll have it all back and in by sat night if all goes well with shop. guy gives one year unlimited mi warranty on all work and pieces.

then its goin into muffler shop to have downpipe made up. hopefully this will help my egt problem a bit:dunno

Hope you get the tranny fixed and in soon. It sucks when someone kills your stuff. I have a rule......NO ONE borrows my truck to haul or tow anything. If they need it hauled/towed, I'll do it for them.;Sweet

sounds like when they borrowed the truck they were trying to be extra careful with it so they drove a little slower thinking that would be easier on the equipment. Can't really fault them for that.

well i appreciate the carefulness but i told them on my test drive before they left 60 mph. but im not asking them for anything though so oh well. i would have done it for them but it needed to be hauled on a thursday and i had to work. they couldn't afford to pay my days wages plus fuel. i did drive it back that sunday though.

yep i hope its good rebuild. gives the warranty so im trustin him. very small town so its hard to be a crook and have business like he does.
