heh, only cuttin tool i have is a hacksaw and cut off wheel and angle grinder. no welder yet either.

ah well, dont need a hitch on teh ol smoksta anyway.

one thing that has worked for me is to chain the hitch up to a tree and put the truck in drive, bring the chain taut, and then whack on the all sides of the receiver with a BFH while there is tension on the chain. this has done the trick for me once.
