I need new tires for my f250, what is my best choice in size and style for mpg's ? I do pull a 7000lb tandem axle trailer with up to 7000lbs on it but not often.

Most likely your best bet is 235/85 16 highway treads. IF possible there are "low rolling resistance" treads out there. General Tire has the Grabber HTS for example, but not sure how good they are on heavy pickups. I have no personal experience with them, but I like my GT Grabber AT2's

Narrow as possible, least aggressive tread pattern possible, and keep them aired up. But, you'll want something E-rated to handle the load. 215s were stock, technically, with 235s the more common option. 215s would do better from a mileage standpoint, but you'd have to consider the load capacity for the tire since the skinnier they get, the less they can carry.
I'm running Cooper Discoverer HTs in 235/85/16 on mine. No complaints.

hahaha, well for what the OP needs he won't find a better tire. You get what you pay for with tires....for the most part(i think x-nrcan knows where i am going with that

Wild Country XTX Radials. Great warranty also. And they have the "snowflake" rating. So good for folks who see some snow but not enough to justify two sets of tires.

I am sold on the Michelin LTX (not sure if it superseded now) had them on (3) different Cummins 5.9 all 4x4's 03 Std Cab 2500, 06 Quad 2500 and 06 Quad Dually 3500 - 150,000 miles in 5 years - great in the wet, good in the snow and light ice, terrible in mud - all loaded towing from 8,000 to 14,000 lb trailers in the Pacific Northwest hauling horses. Super quiet, smooth, durable, long lasting, good MPG. Hands down the best tires I ever owned for all around variable towing and long hauls year around never had an issue with any.
Also have run Cooper Discoverer's on 1978 F250 4x4 gasser. Good tires, excellent traction wet or snow, faster wearing, noisier, way less money than the LTX but a good tire.

well telling him that there has been multiple posts on the same subject from people with much better opinions and facts than me is the whole point in posting to search to yes it was helpful .
