I have the Firestone Steeltex on one of my trucks, and the Michelin LTX M/S on another. I agree the Steeltex are a very hard compound and are slippery in the rain and snow. I had them siped and they are much better now in the rain and snow. The LTX wear well also and they do have better wet and snow traction then the Steeltexes before the siping. The Steeltex with siping and the LTX without siping are about the same traction wise. But the M/S designation on the LTX is a oxymoron they suck in the mud. I don not mean deep mud either. I mean the 2" or so you get when the ground starts to thaw. They are OK in the snow.
