What can a person all fix or do with that??

For reconditioning the commutators on an armature (starter motor). The brass commutators are insulated from each other and the insulation material needs to be recessed to get any life out of the rebuild. If you use a lathe or drill press and fine sandpaper to fix up the brass surface for new brushes, this tool makes recessing the insulation easier and consistent.

Cool to have this but I just use a manual scrapper - a broken exacto blade works.

If you were doing starter or alternater rebuilds or any brush electric motor this is a great tool to have. Makes a simple job so easy and clean. For the price its a great deal. I almost want it just to have it for that time of need...

$75 is a little steep. You can take a hacksaw blade, grind the offset off, PULL the blade toward you, never PUSH it, done it a thousand times when my DAD and I had a rewind shop. Need it, go for it? Bid at $15.50.

Induction start motors have a lot of bars.

Most truck starters are high current and we didnt cut the mica because the brushes will wear it down and it keep the copper from "laying over" and shorting the comm. On low current uses it is defineately needed.
