Hello, All.

A couple weeks ago, started hearing a metallic sound or slippy belt. Became more metallic. Just now, removed flywheel cover (E4OD) and checked convertor bolts. All good.

Then removed fan and clutch, then one belt at a time. No change, in fact it's getting louder!

Mighty scared over here.

Used to be able to load videos directly here. WTH?

With a crappy speaker... Sounds like cracked sheetmetal, or a n errant fastener in the bellhousing....

GOT IT!!!! Holeeeeeey........ No big deal..... just the starter solenoid hanging by its shaft!!!!!!!!! YIKES, again!

Both mounting bolts are gone. Starts just fine, of course!!

The metallic sound is the housing for the solenoid.... sheetmetal!

:mad::eek::oops:o_O:bail

Thanks for your attention, gentlemen! :Thumbs Up When in doubt , get back under there and touch EVERYTHING!!!!!! :yell:

Time to disconnect those batteries, eh?

You checked the converter bolts, but did you check the flywheel itself?

Shook the flexplate. Next step would have been dropping the transmission to check flywheel bolts. It really is a sheetmetal sound, so flexplate was all I could think of!

Glad you found it!

Sounded like something rubbing the fan to me, but knew it had to be something else, wiggling stuf is magic.
