Hi all. Wanted to share. For 20 some years I drove a 2001 f350 super duty and put 600k on it. Mostly towing. When the motor finally went out I didn’t want another truck payment again. And was pretty tired of the maintenance costs and horrible under hood clearances. We have been trying to pay our house off in 15years not 30 so not I to spending g extra money right now. So my buddy, amazing friend and our horse shoer gave me this truck he got from a young man that went into the navy. It had a bad trans, big exhaust and turbo leaks and the electrical harness was all beat up. I build off road trucks for a living so I went after it slowly. New trans, Rebuilt the top end. It had 3 bad valve guides. Re did the exhaust and turbo connections. Re did all the fuel in and return lines. Re did the whole glow plug system. And converted to g3 alternator. And then started on the inside. Heated power seats from a 2005 excursion. Center console and rear seat from my 2001 super duty. Yes they are different colors but oh well. Just finished dipping the dash and added a switch panel cheap radio with back up camera and gauges. (Yes cheap gauges but they have always worked for me.

Next is aftermarket ac, flat bed with chase rack, tires and 4.30 gears, winch bumper ect…

It runs 12psi from the banks turbo gets great milage and tows better then my old 2001 super duty. It’s not a big budget build but it tows the old heavy 3 horse trailer no problem at 8500 lbs, hauls cows and big hay loads.

Mine's an '89 F350 4x4 DRW NA 7.3 w/E4OD. Started life as a military fire truck (probably Air Force), then went on to be a brush truck for a fire dpt in Arkansas until it was sold to a small hot rod shop, and then later auctioned to a farmer in Missouri. Then I bought it from him. It has no less than four coats of hastily applied paint attesting to the many lives it's lived, not to mention a slew of holes that were drilled for all the accessories over the years. I believe it spent most of its early life sitting around warehouses unused since it has almost no rust on the original cab & chassis. It's also given me nothing but trouble since I bought it four years ago, but the sunk cost fallacy has a real stranglehold on me so I keep on tinkering with it. Plus, it just looks tough.

The last pic is not my exact truck, but what it probably looked liked originally.

I think they look good with the visor. Thankfully mine was a centurion installation and looks to be sealed good.

Unfortunately it appears that whoever installed the flatbed removed a cab spoiler so I found someone holes along the back of the cab that I need to seal.
