I just got back from a week at the coast.
Everything is needful of de-salting...
She still works for her fuel bill.

1885 with 86,000 original miles when I Saved from a slow death in my buddy’s pasture in 2014. It had been sitting there for a couple years when I finally asked what the deal with it was. His brother couldn’t figure out the fuel problems and parked it. I traded him a rifle. It took a while and lots of work but now purrs like a kitten rolling down the TX highway.

Best upgrade I ever made after going through 3 or 4 Chinese fuel (lift) pumps, electric fuel pump! Installed a tach instrument cluster. Other than that it is pretty much stock.

Howdy y'all. Bought this '86 F250 6.9 idi in Southern Oregon. Flawless drive back home to Whidbey Island via the Oregon coast (no air conditioning). It's right at home here on Whidbey Island. Has the Gear Vendors overdrive, which is awesome to have since it's a 4.10 rear end. I was surprised to see the original sticker and all the past service records when I opened a random box full of gaskets (two sets of head gaskets -- wonder what has happened in the past?). Anyways, seems well cared for and I'm excited to be the next owner. Named Roy.

Looks like an old County or State truck.

I drove those when working for the state.
They were the 466 engines. First 2 were end of 81 and both auto trans. might have been 1800 series?
Last one I drove was a 95 466 and 5 with 2 spd air shift rear axle. Drove from new to 150K miles till I retired.
Might have been a 4600 or next series up. Retired in 06.
last year on all mechanical Injection before they messed them up with a computer. Was a nice truck,

Thinking with a 7.3 might make her grunt a little.
Good it is a gear box and not an auto trans.

Just picked this up at 11pm on marketplace. 1991 7.3 idi extended cab long bed xlt lariat. But shes got some issues, transmission lines are leaking from both radiator and transmission, and looks like 2 injectors are leaking and causing it to lose prime after it sits over night, smokes pretty heavy (white smoke, and yes coolant is good lol) unsure if its because the injectors are introducing air? But ive also read injection pump can cause it. It's my first diesel, and im really hoping to get it going in all of it's glory again. Thanks for reading and looking!
