I honestly didn’t even plan on buyin stage 1s but I just opened up the website one afternoon and they were in stock. Now that I have them I couldn’t live without them.

But that being said my plans have changed.
I am no longer building the crew cab. I have fallen out of love for the crew cab long bed after owning one. I am however going to be taking the axles build trans, dash and core support out of it and swapping it into my beloved 91 extra cab 6’ bed 100% stock and original f150. Truck was bought in forest grove Oregon and lived its entire life in Hillsboro.

Well a little time after work and trans and t case are out, now I just gotta fix the tractor to pull the truck out and snatch out the ole 5.0 to start the sky’s sas and prep the crossmember to receive the idi motor mounts

It’s been a bit longer than I thought about how long it’s been down in the draw waiting for me to work on it.

Got the 5.0 yanked out and pressure washed the engine bay. “Rebuilt” a few things in there to I just lost the receipts

Lots of cleaning of the pistons and block, ya know standard stuff. Making progress though. I have the donor truck pulled right up so I can pull the core support, frame side mounts trans and wiring out for the blue truck.

Lots of cleaning of the pistons today. Got the ring lands cleaned of all the carbon build up so the new gapless rings can go in and spin freely… only took 3hrs to clean it all out.

Set the crank in this afternoon with standard bearings. Got pretty decent, going to run it anyways since they don’t make 10 under anymore.

So Sunday morning I started fitting the rings to the cylinders with Justin’s gapless setup. But it didn’t come with any documentation on how to setup the ring gap.

Some may ask why the hell would you cerakote everything with the 2700* ceramic coating. And I would say. Leave me along I was dumb and bought a very expensive amount of the wrong paint for a project and this is how I justify its use. The whole long block is getting done with this coating. (Yes I bought that much of the wrong stuff)
Thanks to the oversight of the powers at be I was able to track down in my racking of way to much idi **** which was the right balancer to use in the idit rotating assembly. Thanks Russ and Justin. A big shout out to Russ though as I have a spare idit balancer that I’ll be sending out the damper doctor to rebuild so I can swap it in.
