I started brushing on some of the cosmoline today. My very first thought was that I got jipped. They call it heavy cosmoline and it's extremely runny.

I got thinking about it and it has been on the back porch so it was warm, and the frame has been baking in the sun. I think the galvanizing is just too smooth to really hold it. Going over a spot that had partially dried gave me much more expected results. I think a second or third coat should give good solid coverage.

Bolt depot is a great place to source flange bolts and other hardware.

Yessir that's where I got the ones I used!

I'm looking forward to a care package from you soon! I'm not telling yet but I'm excited!

Seems there are some covert operations starting to unfold here. :Thumbs Up

Can't wait to see how this comes together.

Now don't get THAT hyped up hahaha. In a couple weeks or so. The main reason for not spilling the beans is umm... Lack of funding approval from certain interested parties that might make me sleep in the garage LOL
I can relate to this. I have been on a bi of a budget freeze myself.

Well I expected that to be a pain in the rear and it did not disappoint. Definitely could have gone worse though so I can't complain.

Got lucky with one of them, came out with the bushing when I pressed it out. Shackles were the "moulded" style so no sleeves to deal with so they went smoother.

The plus side of 30 year old bushings is they're usually so dried out they don't fight near as much coming out! I'll bush the springs another time.

Like $30 for ten on ebay. They work good enough for that price!

Unfortunately however, the center pins are 7/16 and I ordered 3/8 so I'll have to hold off a little bit longer before I can assemble the packs.
