T-18/T-19 slave diffs

I am replacing my tranny and I found a T18 but it has an inside slave! I never heard of that but I think I can swap the guts and make it work has anyone ever hear of doing that and is an inside slave common on the t-18s?

Is there a brand name on the thing? It may be a speed shop mod.

A concentric slave on a T18 is not a Ford thing. Only the small block 5 speeds ran that setup. The 4 speeds all ran an external slave, the small block one is smaller than the 460/diesel one, but still external nonetheless.
I'd be curious to see that internal setup on the T18. It's probably some sort of aftermarket setup.

Well it came out of a 460 truck that was wrecked. Can i use a T-18 I just found a reman for 400! on CL!


I dont know whats up with it I thought it was odd?

The bellhousing isn't going to match up . If you have a t19 bell, I *think* it will fit, but don't quote me on it.gasser bellhousings won't work on diesels.

That is quite odd... Obviously not factory, a factory 460 truck should be a T19 with the same hydraulics as an IDI.
A T18 or NP435 from a 4x4 ford will work as long as you have the diesel bellhousing, personal preference would be to find a T19 to keep the synchronized first gear though.
