Gear oil from T-19 leaking and overfilling the Doug Nash Overdrive bolt on unit.

My mechanic can’t find the seal or part to fix this problem, anyone know what I’m dealing with?

I think it is the rear seal of the transmission right before it bolts on to the overdrive unit.

He said he’s been looking online I am not sure it’s been taken apart yet.

Said he doesn’t want to take gaskets off or seals off unless he knows he can find replacements.

He is going to have to pull it apart, and either get numbers off seal, or measurements.
If it uses the same seal as a 4x4 unit, seal will be skf 19611. Was given that number by someone who rebuilt one, so dont know for sure.

The last seal on the trans is the rear seal, I would think that is the problem and needed to be replaced but I am not sure.

Thanks for the seal number I’ll send this info along!

Have not had one of those setups apart, but probably has an adapter that repaced the tailshaft of the trans, and has no seal. Seal is probably in input of the od unit.

Man mechanics stink. Any mechanic worth his salt knows how to take something apart and get a part number off of it. With out knowing or seeing first hand I’d agree the seal would be in the input of the of unit. Time for a basic rebuild at least a full reseal while it’s out. I would get with us gear since they purchase Nash and see if they can email a parts diagram. It maybe a 17754

Have one of these out this morning and can confirm the 19611 seal on the input of the od unit.
