Swap into a 69 Ranchero, looking for suggestions

So I have a 69 Ranchero that I am looking to do a swap into. I am open to doing a full chassis swap, maybe from a Ford based truck or car. I think it would be cool to have 1 ton axels/hubs but not married to the idea. I want something simple in the way of engine management, no computers and such, one wire to kill the fuel would suit me fine. Any suggestions?

He was looking at doing PSD I think but the same fabrication applies. You could do an IDI or cummins or whatever 1 wire setup you can think of. Anything with a fuel shutoff I guess. Welcome and goodluck!

Yeah, there are a lot of "1 wire" setups to choose from. Most folks on this site are fond of the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI found in 83 - 94 ford f250s and f350s. Tons of support here on this site for that platform.
6-9L 7-3L Diesels

Also 1 wire a 5.9 Cummins 12v would be cool 89 - 98.5 dodge 3/4 and 1 tons.

Getting kind of hard to find, and tend to be over priced, another 1 wire setup is a Cummins 4BT 3.9, just like the cummins 12v with 2 cylinders missing.

when i got my ranchero "thee wee *******" the entire front end was rusted.
front suspension was done.
i swapped it onto a few frames over the years finally setteling on a 89 F350 gasser chassis
i do have a powerstroke in it. but the 7.3/6.9 will bolt into its place.

lots of work to do what youre thinking. but its do-able.
