It's been a while since I've been on here haha.

So for those that forgot or those that are new I'll re-cap......a couple years ago i got rid of my factory lift pump in favor of an electric one. I decided on a stock 7.3 sd pump. Well since it pushes way more fuel than our injection pumps like i needed to use a bypass style regulator. I took the return side of the regulator and tee'd into the factory return line. While the engine ran fine, it still was not the way to go as it was backfeeding into the ip and causing issues there. So i went and got a 5-7psi carter pump and was on my way with no more issues. Fast forward to now and the lift pump was starting to get pissy with me. I had done some research and found that if i ran a dual filter set up i could put the return from the regulator into one of the inlets on the filter heads. So that is exactly what i did and it works great. Zero pressure drop even under wot and it even seems to run a bit stronger.

No clearance issues? Seems like t hangs pretty low. Neat setup otherwise!

So you are plugging the return line (from the engine fuel system) into the intake side of the pump? Interesting set up but some thoughts:

1. By having the return line connected to the pump intake wouldn't you be introducing air into the intake side of the pump? This might explain your feeling of having more power.
2. How do you deal with switching tanks? I assume this set up is after the switch and it is a moot point but thought I would ask anyway in case anyone else wants to do it.
3. Could you not achieve the same using only one filter?
4. Why two filters? You have twice as much plumbing parts and hopefully two filters are redundant. Maybe you are using alternate fuel (WMO) and have a need for different grades of filters?
5. I wouldn't leave that hose hanging so low!

So, basically, you are routing fuel like this.

Tank,
though filter 1.
Then through sd lift pump.
Through filter 2
Through regulator.
Regulated pressure to IP and regulator return goes back to the inlet of fuel filter 1.

I read it as the engine return line system still returns to the tank like normal.

Seems like it should work...

I am having a problem under full load of the fuel filter light coming on with my carrier pump....
This seems like a workable option to be able to keep your dual tanks working.

Looks like a great set up. Any chance of getting a list of the parts in your set up and where you sourced them.

I like it but hate it...

Like it cause super clean fuel still keeps electric pump in mix and maybe u solved the issue of fuel stacking in return system.

Eric what or where did this come from?

Hate it cause location location location.....tooooooool Loooooow for me not protected.

Thanks for the update and nice see ya back man;Sweet

So you're still running the previous SD pump? Or the 5-7 psi carter?
I got confused on that part.
2 filters because one is a water separator with a larger micron rating, other is smaller micron. Filters better, and won't have to change them as often.
I have basically the same on my psd, except the return part.
