Strange fuel leak.

I have a small fuel leak coming from the motor. It's dripping off the bellhousing where the starter bolts up and then onto my U-pipe. I just replaced all my injector o-rings, return lines, and caps, and none of them are leaking. I'm not sure what else could be leaking in that area.

Is there any fuel in the valley pan under the IP and the intake? Your leak sounds like the one I had when one of my hard lines cracked at the IP. The back of the valley pan was filled with diesel and overflowing, going down the back of the block, and then running down by the starter.

Most likely an injector line at the pump, or the pump itself. Get it dried out real good (the valley pan), and if necessary, sprinkle baby powder in there so you can follow the path of the leak.

I remember there is a T fitting in that part of the engine, this is where the return line connects to close the system and returns to the fuel tank as well, maybe it is worth looking at it too.

I'm just a blind fool. I scoured the area around the pump and couldn't find a leak. I finally looked under the airbox and one of my return caps is leaking. I just replaced all these dang things. I'm sure I wont be able to fix just the leaky one without disturbing the other 3 on that side so I went and got enough o-rings to redo all 4 caps. Will the madness never end?

I've had some instances where I could not get an injector to stop leaking, without replacing the injector. Just be aware of that. New O-rings, and caps in all kinds of combinations, and the only thing that worked was replacing the injector.

Usually these o rings seal up nicely "IF"... You replace the caps and the o rings. Just doing half the job is why it still leaks or it leaks shortly down the line. Next time replace everything and you wont have any more leaks. Mel must of been under a rain cloud for his leak to end up being an injector. Maybe a badly machined injector got past inspection.....

I did replace everything, I purchased a kit with new rings, caps, hose and clamps. It hasn't even been a month since I did it all. I just got new rings this time for the one side since the caps and hose are still new. At least it is the easy side to work on.

use 2-111 viton orings and some grease on them had the same problem one month after i just did them
