Started Truck After Sitting 10 Days

Today after letting my truck sit way too long I wanted to "take it for a run"..... It started after about 1/2 turn of the motor. The fast idle was set so it reved up to around 900 rpm and stayed there.. Not a bit of ruff running or smoke. The fuel system must be tight. The Moose pump works great... Now for some better injectors than the "G" codes I'm running now....

I'm gone from 28-35 days at a time and the truck never gets started.

Mine fires first rotation everytime, all I do is disconnect the batteries, and yes I've still got the mech lift pump

this be very true--as mine has set for some time--do to a k&n eating the rings. i disconnect the cable off of the solenoid on the fenderwell, you lose the radio presets, but at least the batts stay up---

IDIs are good for flashing up, my bros GM 6.2 sat a year and fired right up after a bit of cranking, friend had a f-350 (7.3) that sat for 2 years (starter was shot) we rolled it down the driveway and it fired up after bump starting it

The '92 would be dormant for 6-9mo and would fire right up after the batteries were reconnected.

Somewhere on here is my thread about starting the Night Moose motor when it was still in the donor truck. Sitting outside for 2 years.... started just like it was only 10 days, old fuel and all, AND... on jumper cables.

But of course in your case.... *cough cough... it was of course... *cough.. the Moose Pump that was really making that happen for you.

Lets see...One day, it will start after a few cranks. Two or more...crank, crank, crank, crank....you get the picture. Then vrooom. It starts up and dies. Then, it starts again and idles up and down for a few minutes. And smokes like mad. Im getting a compression tester today though...I will check it and almost bet that the HGs are bad.
