I've been looking it it for a while on the floor of the garage & decided to get moving on it. It's a DPS system (purchased from Scott Beretz. Thanks Scottie) which I think was intended for a PSD. I have to get different boost switch fittings to make it work with the Banks system, I guess. My questions is this. The boost switches had a plastic tee on the assembly which would splice into the boost gauge line. The Banks line is TINY, the tee is bigger than 1/4in. I havent been able to locate a tee that small. ( I don't know the line sizes, sorry) but I was just going to tap the hat & go with a bigger line just for the switches. It wouldn't be a flow thru connection, just an air line that terminates at the switches. Is that a bad idea? I figure when the bosst comes up it will be fine but when the boost drops, will the pressure in the switch line drop also to shut off the nozzle(s). Any advice is appreciated. Here's some pictures of what I've done so far.

Here's a few more. Footnote: I stole the nozzle placement from the Splash System ;p

Scott, I don't see any problem with your separate boost line idea.

But first things first. Its way too clean under that hood. Mix up 5 gallons of muddy water, add 1 pint of oil, 3 cups of diesel fuel, and 3 table spoons of rust colored paint. Then dump the whole thing all over your engine compartment. That will get things looking right. :D ;Sweet

I was hoping the professor would chime in early on :D . I'm gonna move ahead with that plan then. As for the dirty engine bay, I have a small pond of fuel under the IP, a severe tranny leak, & a lovely oily mess which has been blowing out from under the intake hat due to an improperly seated sealing gasket on the intake (which is now trashed). That would bring me to another question. Is there anywhere other than Banks to get a gasket that large? I checked Western Auto with no luck. Since there's so much hidden grime, I try to keep the "public areas" clean. The hat is shiny 'cause my daughter rubbed it all over the dog :rotflmao .

the reason for the bigger boost line connection is on the PSD we have a 1/4"(i think its 1/4")hose from our intake to the MAP sensor.its a dead end at the MAP sensor so your idea should work fine.when the bosst drops the pressure in the line will drop with it.the line for your boost gauge should work for it,its 1/8" line.you can get the line kit for the mechanicle oil pressure gauge at most auto parts/speed shops,i know advance auto parts has them, you can use the fittings from it for your setup, its the same line as the boost gauges use

That would explain the big tee I have on the switches. Thanks for the info Rich. I was looking at the parts on the bench & I guess I'm going to go with my original idea but I think I'm going to look for a brass tee to go into the hat where the original boost gauge goes in & use reducers & bushings to make it all work without having to drill the hat again. I suck at tapping stuff. Women included

Good looking engine bay Scott. Nice and neat...even if you say you've got a couple of leaks. I've thought about that gasket as well. You might want to try an implement dealer, or a farm center.

Good luck on the project....sure looks nice.

Using an 1/8 in. tee, I'll need to enlarge on side of it to 1/4 in. for the switches & the other side will be my boost gauge line !/8 in.). Will having 2 different size lines off the tee give a false pressure reading to either component?

Few more pictures. All the underhood stuff is done & the control box is mounted. I just need to mount the tank & adjust the pump & nozzles but I've played hooky from work long enough today ;p

Way to go Scott! I rode with Ken from DPS in Michigan on a 6.9 that was running on 7 cylinders, and could see the difference when he hit the switch for the water. I think you'll like it!

That's good to hear. I'm hoping for a noticable gain with it on. My nozzle switches aren't activating for some reason when I tried to test them. Ken suggested a few things to check & try. But, I lost the transmission on the way to work so it's at the tranny shop being "improved". Then I'll finish the H2O. I'll keep posting the progress. I have a cool idea for the tank location :Sly .

Well, I finished the installation today & went to test it out. It's working, but not working. Everything in the system works when activated manually, however, the switches don't activate off the boost. Something is wrong. I'm thinking it may be the two different size lines I have out of the hat. I checked the line & no links or anything. Blew thru it with no problem. I'm gonna try 1/8 in. airline & see if that brings the pressure up in the switches. I'm looking at it like this, if you were to blow thru a Mc Donalds straw & a paper towel roll with the same amount of force, you would get more force of flow from the straw. Maybe the switches need more force to active off of boost pressure? Is this making sense to anyone else?

Nope not at all, preasure is preasure, it's the same in a big pipe or a little pipe. The volume of air moved at the preasure would be different. I am going to guess that your peasure switch uses very little volume, so that should not make any differance to have a big or a small pipe on it.
I would check the opperation of the switch to start with, run a little light bulb, or a multi meter on it, and get something that can generate a little preasure to make sure it's opperating where you want it to.
