With the swap of tires, I took it on the road yesterday.
With better tires, now it doesn't FEEL as dangerous as it did before.
But the shoosh sound is only getting louder.
Plus, I put it into 4WD at the foot of the drive, and backed up the drive when I got home..... And there was a bunch of snap crackle pop in that passenger side front, now.....
Got to add that if the needle bearing is the size it is in that picture, then it is obvious by the amount of play that I have in the spindle, that that bearing is *gone*.
There should be maybe 1/4 to 3/8 of play in the end of a spindle that size. Mine is over an inch of play.
