soup bowl mod

first remove the air filter housing from the truck. step two the soup bowl is on the top part of the air filter housing were the bolt bolt goes though. take a dremel tool to slit the soup bowl near the bottom every few inchs. then use a flat tip screwdriver or a pry bar to bend the the soup bowl were you made the slits. there is 5 spot welds holding it on so when you find them just pry harder. when you are done you have to weld the pin holes are jb weld. then you take the air defecter off by wigling it until it breaks off once again there will by 5 holes you have to fill in. pics to come it wont let upload the pics

Keep in mind that the "soup bowl" is not the only air cleaner mod that may be needed, as it was not present in all model years. Some had the "carb throat" in the lower part of the air cleaner which was even worse than the soup bowl. When I did my soup bowl lid, I just took a grinder to the spot welds. Takes less time and there is less mess and nothing to fill with jbweld.

Yea that is the one. he does an ok job, if you are careful and experienced with a grinder you. An just do like mel and I did and just grind the welds
