I turned my fuel the rest of the way up. Screw doesn’t turn in anymore.

Moose Junior pump.

No smoke once it’s spooled up. Now to get the puff limiter on and set properly. Not much smoke down low but I would like to eliminate all smoke, and there is a little currently.

Only about 1 psi of fuel pressure at wide open. I don’t know that I think the Walbro FRB-13 flows enough.

R&D’s kit caught my eye… I called him and asked a couple of questions about it. There have been some times that I have called him and felt like I didn’t gain anything from it, not the case today however. The way he designed them seems genius to me. I will probably buy one of his ‘Standard Fuel Systems’ as soon as they are available. The ‘Deluxe Fuel Systems’ are for a 38 gallon tank, and aren’t compatible with a chassis cab truck like mine.

I have already redone all lines between the tanks and selector valve, and of course put a manual selector valve in. So the ‘Standard’ will be perfect… he has an option to get one of his setups with dual pumps. I might do that… plenty of fuel then. Unnecessary for what the current engine requires for fuel… but… the dark side is strong, very strong. Too strong… it calls to me… and it may overwhelm me… very soon.

I blew 15 fuses trying to get home. 5 of them being 100amo maxi. Was a fun evening.
Thats how you start fires my friend, glad you made it home.

My emergency kit in my truck includes an alligator clip to run from the starter relay to the FSS. Ive had the fusible link give up the ghost before on me.

It wasn't on purpose or intentional, but the Blue Truck got a new beauty mark on the windshield. A semi passed by me going the other way when I heard a loud SNAP. I saw whatever it was for maybe 1 1/2 seconds as it flew over the top of the cab. From what little I could see, it was dark colored and about the size of a golf ball. I don't know if it came off of the highway or off of the trailer itself. The only reason I suspect the trailer, is because it was about 1 1/2 miles from the county seat, there's a shingle manufacturing plant there, and the load wasn't very tall. It took me a bit to find the spot since it's right at the bottom of the windshield. It was a hard enough hit that I saw some glass powder on the dashboard. It was loud enough that I almost had to go back home to change my drawers!
That's a hard hit to get glass dust on the dash...but in your case it just fell through to the floor ;Poke

Oil cooler reseal time. Been leaking for a while, but the leak turned into a near stream. Not an easy job, but worth taking some time to do it right.
I cheated.
Pulled it off, wire brushed, then took it to a shop and spent $20 to have them press on a new cooler I supplied.
Was confident I could get the pieces to squeezed enough to remount, just not confident I wouldn't muck up one of the seals.
Well done.

Had to repair the box truck transmission on the yard at the hill it died on, and thought I had it mostly level on jacks when I added the ATF.
Also thought I had mostly evacuated and replaced the cooler, lines, and new filter, so added three gallons and fired it up.
Took a dipstick reading which showed only the tip in fluid, so like a freaking newb I dumped another 1/2 gallon in, thinking I didn't evacuate the system as well as I thought.
Got it running and onto the road, only to discover it was massively overfilled.
Not wanting to pull the plug and deal with all that bs I tried a total frustrated and fed up hail Mary short cut attempt.
Hooked up 6' of hose to the vacuum bleeder and fed it down the dip stick tube.

Snapped a picture of the ATF coming up the hose.
It took around 10 minutes, filled the catch can to about half the empty volume left.
No sure, might have been giggling the whole time...lol

Thanks brother. I'm currently in school as a diesel tech, so I was able to take the cooler to our shop and use the press to get everything back together. I tried to do it at home with a floor jack, but couldn't keep everything straight. Got the truck out back together and on the road. We'll see how long it is before it springs another oil leak.

Installed R&D return rails today. My goodness what a pain… but I had been having a hard time the past couple of weeks getting return caps to seal up, the old ones were falling apart but the new ones seemed kinda loose, so today I took the time to put those rails on. Didn’t even destroy any O-rings in the process, which is the first time that’s happened for me. But it still took way longer than it should have to install the rails, no surprise there…

No more leaks, starts better too.

Looks like the threads are pulled on one side of the cover that bolts to the front of my IP gear case… odd that I hadn’t noticed it before, I must have overtightened it when I turned the fuel up the other day. I didn’t ever feel like I got it very tight, but I am guessing that’s what happened. I could use helicoil, or just swap a 6.9 gear case in. I’ve got one laying around. I also prefer that style. It’s not a minor project to switch those I don’t think, but I’ll just look at one of my spare engines to see if the valley pan has to be pulled. I don’t think so, it’s just the gear that’s the issue…

I've had that happen before. I just tapped the stripped hole out bigger and put a bolt in it. Much simpler that way. Use plenty of grease in the tap threads to keep the shavings out of your engine.
No the valley pan doesn't have to come off in order to swap those housings.
