Size of 6.9 oil sump not including filter?

I'm about to change the oil but not the filter since I don't know how old the oil is, but will change again in 2k miles to get on my oil cange schedual of every 5k at the 5k mark. PO says it was changed about 2k ago, but I don't know how much to drop in nor do I have the book...

Go get 3 bottles of delo,rotella,whatever in the 1gallon bottle. Also, the '95 and up PSD filter will fit 90% of the time. some have reported the filter bumping into the oil pan or the frame crossmember. With the PSD filter you get 2qt filtering rather than 1qt filtering in the reg filter. I usually will fill the filter with half of one bottle, and then dump the two other bottles into the into the oil filler. run it for a little while and let set for about 15 mins and then check the dipstick. Oh yea, make sure you get the largest oil drain pan you can find at the local autozone/kragen/pepboys....
