Well, I have a TTB F250 axle out of a 94, that has the correct 4.10 gear ratio.
But its been sitting outside for a while, and a few things along with the calipers will need replaced on it now.
To top it off both my dad and my brother have used the thing for parts for their trucks now, and so its missing other pieces as well. The thing SHOULD have new ball joints installed before it goes into my truck, as the ones it has are non greasable, and they are'nt feeling that great. And I would also be installing new bushings in the pivot joints. Also, after pulling the hubs off to get some parts for my brother off of it I noticed that BOTH spindles have grooves worn into them, and there are rough spots on the bearing surfaces of it as well that almost look like copper deposits.
At this point, if I have to go through that much work to get this axle ready for install, I'm seriously considering throwing down a couple hundred and getting a complete D60 from somewhere. Eliminating the swing joint, and having to drill the swing joint holes correctly, and upgrading to a superior axle. But at the same time adding another PITA with the drag link.
Around these parts you cant pick up a Ford D60 of any kind for less than $1400-1600, so I'd probably be looking into buying one from out of state and shipping it here.
But at this point, Im just wondering what your guys thoughts are.
