Not sure how "earlier: you mean but there is a difference at some point since I was sent two different hub seals when I ordered some wheel bearing kits from Broncograveyard.com. I had a kingpin D60 from 1987 and it did NOT take the earlier design.

What fun is it to be "normal"?
Normal is very overrated. In my 20s I worked in a few mental healthcare facilities and all I can say is: Abnormal > Normal
Sure, listening to a bipolar person in a manic episode can have its brutal moments but it's quite a thing getting to listen to the output of someone else's mind while it's moving at 100mph and almost no sleep.

I like 95-97 D60s, essentially a big brake ball joint, still has 8x6.5 pattern, with manual hubs. They have calipers that bolt on instead of those pins. A bolt in, no hassle swap. But I am very far from normal…
I wonder if you could make that work on a KP axle? I much prefer a caliper that bolts on.. my KP axle is missing everything from the hubs out, originally planned on using my ttb hubs, brakes etc, but if I could upgrade easily, why not?

Not that I'm aware of....

That's why there's big-brake kits in the aftermarket.

So far I've been happy with just adding the 3" shoes/drums in the rear, stopping capacity is good enough for me.

Hydroboost is a substantial gain in braking performance. Best mod I ever did to my F350.

Superduty or big-brake kits get you up the 1.5-1.6" thick rotors that won't warp like the older thinner ones.
