sealing washers

Why are the thinnest sealing washers needed with the 370's? Does a person need the same washers with the 300's?

I think I read somewhere they act as a shim but dont know fer sure

They help get the nozzle further down in the piston bowl. 370s are a marine injector and are made for marine pistons. Marine pistons have a larger bowl than our pistons. The 370 injectors have a wider spray pattern to use with those pistons. So using the thinner washers help keep the spay pattern closer to our bowl sizes..
