Rough starting

I have a 1995 F-350 CC with 289,888 miles and have had relatively few maintenance issues with the truck, however, now I have to pump my gas pedal to get my truck started. Has anyone ever had this problem and what did you do to fix it. Thanks for the help.

You don't have a gas pedal in a diesel vehicle...but you do have a throttle pedal . Could your fuel pump be going south?

I'd agree with the fuel pump going south.

With that many miles i'd just keep pumping the pedal long as it keeps starting. Worry about it later when it doesnt start at all.

I must be getting old but I can't remember when the p/s started. If this 95 still has the old ingector pump like the 7.3s had it could be the pump is on it's last leg. I know my old 88 would do things like that when the pump was about to go.

Wish this guy would post what he found.
