I have never pulled one of these cabs for engine work, but plan to. Anything to watch out for vs the newer trucks that were designed to be worked on that way?
It’s trivially easy to be honest. A lift, or even properly slung with straps from an excavator or loader tractor, all have worked for me. I usually just unbolt the A/C compressor from the engine and secure it to the inner fender with zip ties, I leave the core support and fenders attached to the cab. I remove the hood, and disconnect shifter or shift linkage, all wiring, steering shaft, master cylinder or brake lines, depending on whether or not brake work is involved anyways, radiator and heater hoses and then unbolt the cab and core support mounts. Up she goes. How do you pull the cab? With lift supported from the bottom? Or are you doing something like wrapping under roof and using forklift/escalator? Curious is second option bends or deforms the cab.
