bump.:)
he's correct on the size.id like to know if anyone here has come up with anything.im left scratching my head.
who would have thought adding an aux oil cooler to a 7.3l would be such a chore.since we share the 94-97 psd oil filter thread size,it makes this that much more stupid about a lack of aftermarket.

I have a remote oil filter adapter. From AMSOIL I don't plan on using it, I think the OEM filter is just easier to own than a remote oil filter in my truck.
The item is the best design you can imagine.
I will send pics or post them up after I find them if you want it.

oh ok.the bk301? id really like a pic of that yes please!
it's used as their bypass setup right? no one shows a pic.if it has large ports so it can be used as a full flow,it'll work.

i just need to know really if it can be used a full flow filter setup? if the in/out ports are not at least 1/2" or -10 AN it wont do.do you know this part of it?

oh i see.........i think lmao.
so what you have is the adapter part that screws onto the block so that you can run the out/in hoses to an aux cooler/remount mount oil filter i think is what im seeing in the pic.
i have this part.this one was easy to find actually:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/prm-2840

ideally,i just wanted the sandwich type so i could just run out two 1/2" lines to my cooler and leave my filter right there but no luck there.so i grabbed that so i could at least run it.but now i need one of these:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-1028/overview/

but ideally with the oem 7.3l idi/psd threads which are 1.5-16

the only place i can find who makes them are here:
http://www.hylube.com/products/rfhadapter.htm
(and summit has one too,but it's an even worse.a full race type of which they want hundreds for.out of the question.)

but i didn't want to pay that kind of $ just for a filter mount of course.sucks but it's looking like if i want to keep my large m1-601 oil filters i have to lube up,bend over and take it like a b...... lol

i tried this one:
36-1.00N1.5-16
http://www.strickequipment.com/catalog/Champion Filters/800 Series Filter shop cart.htm

but its for a massive hydraulic filter of some sort and my m1-601 didn't even come close to sealing to it.massive 1" gap.

so far i have:
Earl's Performance Temp-A-Cure Oil Cooler #41610ERL
Mocal 200 Degree High-Temp Remote Oil Thermostat #MOC-10ANHT
Perma-Cool Spin-On Oil Filter Adapter #2840
banks oil temp gauge (but no place to put the sender yet)
need the filter mount 1.5-16 thread
will run all 1/2 npt to -10 AN where needed (and likely jb weld the suckers right in for good) and have napa make up the hoses.

I am happy with what I have, the larger oil filter, I also added a bypass filter to catch all the small stuff and it just needs tiny 1/4 oil lines for pressure and return, so I tapped into the turbo oil pressure for feed to the bypass and the return line goes into the fuel pump block off plate returning into the crankcase.

What else do you need? A oil cooler on top of the OE one? sounds nice but really necessary? Nah not really!

yes in my case.
my engine is the n/a block with the smaller oem oil cooler.

im getting 260 degree oil temps at the pan since intercooler and large trans cooler install when pulling steep hills.with oil temps reaching up to 260+ it's bringing the coolant temps up far too quickly on the hills.i can raise the efficiency of the engine by keeping them oil temps down around 200-230 where they belong.plus it's just better for the engine too of course to have reasonable oil temps.

Hope you are using AMSOIL with those temps.
The oil getting that hot actually is just fine when using the proper lubricant.
Cheap discount lube will be evaporating at 260F+ temps and leaving behind
alot of leftover sludge.

Proper lubricant will handle 300F all day long with NO viscosity loss
If you dont think so then all those jet engines should be falling out
the sky.

I would prefer to have my engine @ operating temps in the 200/240
all day long, Engine runs better uses less fuel.

I have all my basis covered with my truck now.
Evans coolant= bullet proof cooling system
AMSOIL= bullet proof engine/transmission/differential

Now if I can manage not to crash the truck she will live a long
life.

When towing with my truck the temps will get into the 240F range yet
still remembering in the past we could never really run these temps
without a puckered *****, It is hard to still feel comfortable when you see
250F but seeing the results and the ability of the system to work and cool
the engine with less load I learned how to manipulate the truck to tow the
load. No issues other than the gauges getting into the red zone but I just
drive and monitor.

yeah im running amsoil oil.
im not all that worried about the oil breaking down, but when the oil temp is allowed to reach 260 and higher, that's just asking too much for the cooling system and it's needless.the electric cooling fans just don't need to be on so much if the oil temps didn't shoot up to 260,then the water temps wouldn't climb so quick on the hills either.
all she needs a little more airflow over the oil.;Sweet

to anyone who might want/need one these filter heads:
http://www.hylube.com/products/rfhadapter.htm

only this dealer has them:
http://www.johnsonsoilpumps.com/contact_frame.htm

so sometime next week i'll finally have everything i need.

You dont need all that glitzy stuff. Just tap into a pressure port for oil, run a #6 line to a cooler of choice and return the oil into any valve cover, oil pan, or the fuel pump hole if you run a electric pump.
U-HAUL used to add oil to the sump with a tank mounted under the cab to keep things cool.

I would not worry and drive on!

Of course that glitzy stuff sure is nice!
