that weight ratiing is nothing more than wishful thinking.
The snatch blocks, cable, and hook is nothing better than stuff found on a 8k winch. If I was in your shoes, go spend the money on a good Warn or Ramsey winch and don't look back. I've used the industrial hydraulic version of those brands and neither has ever let me down.

made in china garbage. you can go to harbor freight and get the same quality but have spent less. I trust MileMarker, Ramsey, Warn, Koenig and a few others but for the most part every company out there now wants to snag the cheap crap being imported and pass it off as quality.

Thanks for the replys. I'll let some other sucker bid on those things. I have been looking at Mile Marker. They seem to be the biggest bang for the buck, as far as price and quality.

A Warn XD9000 is $859.99 and M12000 is $1,286.55 from 4wheelparts.com plus there is a $100 rebate.

I have a Warn M10000 (no longer manufactured, but similar to the M12000) and love it. I also have M8000, but it is way too small for our trucks. If you have not looked at them in real life, there is a big difference in size and weight between the smaller Warn 8000/9000 (70-87 lbs.) and the big frame M12000/M15000 (136 lbs.).

Look at it this way, if you are out somewhere and need the winch, then the last thing you want at that time is for it to fail.

Hey thanks, I actually just bought a Mile Marker SI12000 today. 4wheel parts was having a special, so I had Summit Racing do a price match. I picked up at store, saved on shipping. Also sales tax was cheaper too. I got into it for $574 tax included. This unit weighs 95lbs.

imho it's not a matter of which one is better, it's a comparo where which one doesn't suck as bad. Electric winches are nice but if you are really going to do some serious winching, you need hydraulics.
