Putting in new injectors

Is it possible to just move the injector lines out of the way while swapping out the injectors, instead of removing them from the injector pump. Or will this cause damage?.

Yes. The lines can easily be moved so the injector can be removed and installed. If you are having difficulties moving the lines just remove the line clamps.. But make darn sure you reinstall them before you fire up. Those clamps have the rubber vibration dampers in them. Note about those way too short 1/4 inch diameter bolts. Get longer bolts. Then use some electrical tape to hold the nut in the box end of a wrench and screw the bolt thru the metal pieces into the nut. I like using a needle nose vice grip to hold the clamps together when installing the nut and bolt thru them. You will understand what I am talking bout. Taking the lines off the pump is ok too. Nothing will happen like what happens when a ****** breaks.

do i need to completely remove the fuel lines from pump to take the injectors out or can i just unscrew them and move them to the side while i replace them? some one told me i could do this, will it cause damage to the line?.

I bought some rebuilt injectors from type4 four last year or maybe a couple years ago. Anyway he sent me the whole kit to do it right he also pop tested them to make sure they were all timed right. Anyway it was a cinch, be easy on the injector lines and all will be well. I did end up removing some lines and leaving others, make sure you put the clamps back on or your lines will break eventually like mentioned above.

Started putting the injectors in and running lines, does the orientation of the hole on top of the injector matter when putting in the injector and caps, or do the o-rings seal this area and let fuel flow around it into the caps and lines?. Clean bores out well hope i didn't fowl and tips accidentally touched one putting it down in the bore but was cleaned.

As to the injector porting....The hole at the top is the power, the hole on the side is the return, no clocking needed.
As long as ya did not bend the pintle on the new inj. Ya should be ok.
