This F54692 filter/water separator looks different vs what I'm use to seeing... the bottom is open, note wording in paper work "flow inverter"?
Anyone else using Purolator notice this change?
See pic in next post below.
Also, this filter does not have the corresponding part number on the canister.
Feedback?

That is the original type 2 piece filter. Sounds like you have the replacement 1 piece filter. Unless you have the original bottom piece you will need to get the matching replacement. There are several different ones that will fit. I would give you part numbers but I don't know them.

If you expand the top picture you'll see that this filter is designed to have the water separator screwed onto the bottom.
My concern is the inside has what looks like a cone and I believe it reverses flow to be more efficient. Never seen this before in the Purolator fuel filter/water separators I've used over the decades.

Looks cool. I ditched that filter type long ago but based on the literature and pictures I wouldn't hesitate to run it. All it's doing is trying to trap the water inside the filter media rather than the possibility of it filling up the outside of the filter media and not draining all the way. Looks like a decent improvement, I doubt the fuel flow is more efficient like it says but probably won't hurt either.

Sorry I don't have experience with it, but those are my thoughts.
