Diesel junky
I just rebearing'd the 3 steel pulleys on the pass side of the engine in my F450 trying to cure a belt chirping noise
($3 each)...The belt is new also. The alternator looks to be almost new but it has a little squeak in it. Has anyone had any luck changing the bearing in the plastic A/C delete dummy pulley??? I also wonder if the bearing is getting bad in the vacuum pump....My buddy had one fail in his vaccum pump this week....I should by a can of belt dressing to see if that helps at all. Just replacing the 3 bearings took about 70% of the noise away. I have 2 brand new A/C dummy pulley's from 07 ISB Cummins that I brought home from work ( I put a/c in both new trucks)...I could make them fit with a little fabrication and the pulley is steel too....I might need a shorter belt to try them.
