Where can you drop a truck off and pick it up a day later and have the whole thing painted for 400? In "most" cases, it will be a better job than the average home mechanic will do on his own truck and still be cheaper

Yes. It is a single stage non metallic paint job

I've been contemplating a Maaco paint job on the 93. I'd like to try my hand at painting but not at the demise of the 93

Anyway to save on $$ what prep should I do? I'll yank the trim (which needs replaced anyway) and I have a few surface rust spots I need to sand out and prime. How should I scuff down the exisisting crap stock paint job on the truck? Do I just grab my orbital sander, turn on the compressor and sand her down?

If the existing paint is still adhearing will there is no need to take it off. If it is flaking and pealing, then it needs to come off

What brand of tremclad/rustoleum would you suggest? I've used some before but not for a whole truck .

I wouldnt. It is oil based paint. If you ever decide to paint the truck the right way, it ALL needs to be stripped off

Thx DB. I am torn on what to do. I need a paint job. But hate to see the truck get tore up and scratched during next years hunting season. Uncertain whether to do a cheaper paint job or rhino line the whole thing and never worry about a scratch again. No doubt the paint job would look nicer aesthetically.

rhino liner can be colored and can actually look pretty sweet

Does anyone have experience with these products, they work out to right at the same price as oreillys and I like their colors better. Also what would be the difference between the acrylic enamel, and the urethane base/clearcoat system.
